2004 Hyundai santa fe: install a replacement right side door mirror

How difficult is it to install a replacement right side door mirror on a 2004 Hyundai Sante Fe?

CAUTION: Wear gloves to remove and install the mirror holder.

  1. Insert flat bladed screwdriver between the outside rear view mirror holder and the mirror assembly.
  2. CAUTION: When prying with a flat bladed screwdriver, wrap it with a shop towel to prevent damage.

    1. Remove the outside rear view mirror actuator from the outside rear view mirror housing.
    2. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Do you need to remove the whole mirror housing from the car?
No you can replace the glass with the housing on the car.

Yes it can be replaced with out removing the housing.
