2005 kia optima: started running..running hot..traffic..Coolant level

This answer was rated:

2005 kia optima, started running hot at idle or in traffic. Coolant level is okay, just started happening this week.
Hi,how are you? From what you are describing,if the coolant level is full when the car is over heating, you are having a problem with a bad thermostat sticking,or the fan is not kicking on.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Would that mean a bad fan relay, if so, where do I find it?
Yes,it could be a bad relay or the fan motor itself could be bad,the relay would be located in the fuse box under the hood in the engine compartment. If the car starts to run hot and the fan is kicking on,then you are having a thermostat issue.
