2006 kia sorento: trans conects..original owner..oil seal..leaking

This answer was rated:

2006 kia sorento oil at bottom rear of motor where trans conects 73000 miles original owner. is this the rear oil seal leaking, is this normal wear, how much to change?
Unfortunatly, it does sound like a rear main seal. It is normal wear and tear for a Kia, as they aren't as good quality as say a Nissan or Toyota, although it does happen to these cars as well, but not until higher mileage. As for the repair- the seal itself is only around $15. It's the labor thats going to be the killer. The labor time guide calls for 5.6hrs if it manual transmission with 2wheel drive and 6.8hrs if its manual trans with 4wheel drive. If its automatic and 2wheel drive its 7.2hrs and 8.2 if auto with 4wheel drive.
