2002 Saturn SL INTERMITTING START. M/T , Clutch safety switch? Son drives car. When no start, he can wiggle positive cable and it will start most of the time. Saturday would not start at all, came back later cranked right up. Any suggestions?

Hi John my name is Jim.. Need to do some basics first.

How old is the battery?
I assume cables are clean and tight
The key is to check battey voltage when the car will not start. If must be above 12 volts.
You will need a voltmeter to check this.
Since you said sometimes he can wiggle the cable and it will start> The battery may have an intermittent open in the cells.
If the battery tests fine then need to check to see if the starter is getting a signal with key in start position.
There is also a test for the fuse box listed below. Hope this helps. Jim

Have replaced battery since I thought that might be the problem A few weeks ago. Connections were clean and tight. Will inspect these items and let you know later. Thanks.
