How do I replace the brake light switch on a 2005 Hyundai Accent?

It basically just unplugs and plug the new one in. Here is a picture of the location.

So am I looking under the hood or under the dash near the brake pedal? I'm assuming this picture is under the hood, but I'm having trouble locating the switch.

Yes under the hood towards the back of the engine compartment.

I see no switches or anything that plugs in near the back of the engine compartment. My research tells me to remove the panel beneath the steering wheel and locate the switch up high near the brake pedal, but this info is for a 2004 Accent. In your photo the switch appears to be white, but again, I see nothing like that on my car.

I was looking at the 2005 as this was the original posting I see the location on the 2005 is under the dash but I do not have instructions on how to change it. I will send your information to another expert for help.

Remove the trim panel under the steering wheel for easier access:



Disconnect the harness connector, loosen the locking nut and then unscrew the brake switch from bracket:
