1999 dodge stratus: that cuts..battery cables..few miles

we have a 1999 dodge stratus that cuts out while driving , will pull over pull battery cables off and put them back on and car will start and run again for a few miles then cut out again . other days it will run with out any problems ?
is there a check engine light on

could be r5unning to lean low fuel pressure
first I would verify if relay is failed swap out fuel pump relay with another and if it runs ok than you know its is the relay

first relieve fuel pressure
  1. Disconnect the remote negative battery cable from the left strut tower. The ground cable is equipped with an insulator grommet which should be placed on the stud to prevent the negative battery cable from accidentally grounding.
  2. Remove the fuel filler cap.
  3. Remove the cap on the fuel pressure test port on the fuel rail.
