Service and Repair

Front Bumper Fig.1

  • Raise/lower vehicle on "4 Post" ramp.
  • Remove rear brake duct/ wheel arch liner retaining finishers.
  • Undo and remove bumper assembly to bumper strut fixings (1 Fig. 1).
  • Disconnect all multi-plugs.
  • Disconnect power wash supply hoses from jets (Where fitted).
  • Remove the bumper assembly (Fig.1) and place on to a bench.
  • Remove left and right-hand side quarter bumper blades (2 & 3 Fig.1)
  • Remove centre bumper blade (4 Fig.1).
  • Reposition beam assembly for access and remove under tray (5 Fig.1).
  • Undo and remove number plate mounting plinth (6 Fig.1).
  • Remove all remaining trim components and fixings.
  • Undo and remove strut securing bolts and remove strut (7 Fig.1).

Refit in the reverse order of the removal procedure.

NOTE: The bumper cover mounting guide to wing clearance should be 5 mm . For adjustment slacken the guide block securing bolt (7 Fig.1) and reposition the guide block (8 Fig.1). Check for 5 mm clearances between beam assembly to front panel and if necessary turn adjusters to alter beam height to correct setting. On vehicles fitted with energy absorbing struts, adjust struts to achieve 831 mm cross car dimensions between struts.
