1985 porsche 924: bounce..topped..Fuel Level Sensor ($..fuel tank

Customer Question

My 1985 Porsche 928s has a fuel gauge issue. When I purchased the car about 4 years ago with 69,000 original miles, the fuel gauge on the dash would bounce around and would never show "full" even when topped off. The gauge has since not worked at all, and under recommendation from some local Porsche guys, I replaced the Fuel Level Sensor ($165.00)inside the fuel tank. I thoroughly cleaned the plug and the contacts that plug into the sensor, but the fuel gauge still does not work. Any other suggestions?
