95 ford taurus: automatic..acts..little then slip..torque converter

i have a 95 ford tarus automatic and it wont hold in any gear once you touch the gas it just acts likes its in netural then enage for little then slip again, is the torque converter the problem or is it something else in the transmission?

It is unlikely the converter, The transmission in your car is notorious for failure. You most likely need to have your transmission rebuilt.
