1996 saturn lw2: replace the radio with an aftermarket radio/cd player

Customer Question

I have a 1996 saturn sw2. I want to replace the radio with an aftermarket radio/cd player. Are all these radios a standard width/size? My husband is having trouble getting the factory radio out. Any help?

Greetings,

These are the only instructions given for your radio that I can find. Let me know if I can help further.

  1. Remove two control cover push pin fasteners and pull radio and heater and air conditioning control cover rearward.
  2. Disconnect single traction control, fog lamp and rear defog electrical connector.
  3. Remove radio screws.
  4. Depress both side spring clips on radio and pull out slightly.
  5. Disconnect antenna and electrical connector.
  6. On models equipped with base radio, remove storage tray by pulling out towards front of radio.
  7. Remove radio.
  8. Reverse procedure to install.

Good luck,
Bob
