2005 dodge stratus: DOHC..timing belt..water pump, valves, pistons

This answer was rated:

my daughter has a 2005 dodge stratus with a 2.4L I4 DOHC 16V engine. her timing belt broke while driving what is the possibility of having damage to other engine parts (water pump, valves, pistons.....) thanks

I don't believe that this is an interference engine, but the dealer could tell you on the phone for certain. Water pump and pistons would be exempt from damage even if it was an interference engine, only the valves could suffer.

would the valves be damaged if its not an interference engine

No they would not.
