Hello and thank you for choosing Just Answer.

You need to find out what stops working when the car turns off. Does the fuel pump turn off or does the car lose spark. Typically problems like these are caused by a faulty crankshaft sensor, the sensor loses track and causes the car to lose spark. The car turns off out of no where and then after a little it allow you to turn it back on.

Have someone sitting in the back while your driving, the fuel pump should be humming. If it turns off, turn the key to "ON" and listen for the pump.
