2005 CTS: front suspension..slow speeds and any type of rough (..worn

This answer was rated:

2005 CTS at 30,000 developed a thumping noise from the front suspension at slow speeds and any type of rough (not even very rough) road. Nothing obviously loose or worn. Slowly getting louder and louder. Nothing at highway speeds,. Very similar sound to a loose bumper on a old Ford.
HelloCustomer there is a common problem with the lower control arms on this vehicle. In most cases the rear bushing is not large enough and a spacer must be installed. There is a technical service bulletin from Cadillac for this. It is also very possible for the front struts to start making noise on this vehicle at this low of a mileage.
