1990 Mazda Protege LX: the seatbelts dont always retract when I

Customer Question

I have a 1990 Mazda Protege LX with the passive seatbelts. My problem is the seatbelts don't always retract when I open the door. They always seem to come back when I shut the door, but don't always retract. I've heard that the Mazda dealer fixes seatbelt problems for free. Is this true? If not, is this something I can repair myself, like a bad sensor or wire shorting out or something? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, My name isXXXXX am unsure where you are located but you should always start with dealer. You need to expalin your problem as most State laws do say the manufacturer/dealer must repair seatbelt problems. This may not always be true if they wre altered, cut, moved modified etc.. Again, I would start with dealer. If no luck. Pls return and we will see what we can do.
