Camshaft Position Sensor <--follow link for picture of sensor

Removal & Installation

4.6L Engine

To Remove:

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. To remove the left sensor, remove the air cleaner outlet air duct.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
  4. Remove the bolt and the CMP sensor.

To Install:

  1. Install the CMP sensor. Tighten the bolt to 89 in-lb (10 Nm).
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the air duct if removed.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
