Once you locate it on the manifold, you need to remove the large pipe fitting first. Then pull the vacuum line off, then remove the 2 bolts and pull it off. Replace the gasket, then thread in the big pipe first, do not tighten all the way. Replace the 2 bolts then tighten them and the pipe. Replace the vacuum hose and you're done.graphic

I know the location of the egr but there is not enough room to do what you say; do you have to take any thing loose.

No, but you may need to use a crowfoot wrench on that pipe fitting.
