I have a 1998 GMC "S" series Jimmy. The AC compressor does not kick in when unit turned on. There is no voltage are the connector on the compressor clutch hub - What relay or sensor controlls the clutch on the compressor or what is my problem?

Have you had the system pressures checked with a set of gauges?

I have not had the system checked with a set of pressure guages.

There is a "low pressure" cut off switch that will prevent current to the compressor clutch when the pressure is not sufficient,,,its a protection device to prevent compressor damage. I reccomend having the pressure tested,,,most likely the system just needs a recharge.
