The check engine light comes on and sometimes goes off while driving. When I checked with the scanner the code was P0601 - INERNAL CENTRAL MODULE MEMORY CHECK SUM ERROR. Do I need to change the PCM? what should I do

What year, make, model, and engine size are we talking about here?

2001 Crysler Sebring Convertible 2.7 with 121k miles

OK.. I just checked and unfortunately this does mean an internal failure of the PCM.

I'd hate to say it, but a visit to a Chrysler dealer is in order for this one. They can try reprogramming your existing PCM, but if that doesn't fix it then a new one will need to be installed. The new one will also need to be programmed as well, and this is something only the dealership can do.
