I have a 2002 buick century, the fuel gauge is erratic. When I start the car after it has sat the fuel gauge is near the empty mark. It seems that upon accelerating it rises to over half full sometime higher, Then it drops upon decelerating. Whats up?

Hello, It sounds like the level unit located on the side of the fuel pump has an open. When the fuel sloshes around, the float moves, up and down and it it only takes a small bad spot on the sensor to distort the reading.

Unfortunatly the fuel tank will need to come out to replace this part.

I hope this helped if so an accept is appreciated
