2001 Seville: drove..the ABS and Traction Control lights came

Resolved Question:

Today when my husband drove to school, about an hours drive, the ABS and Traction Control lights came on and stayed on? This is the first time this has happened. 2001 Seville...what does this mean? The weather was snowy and icy and wind blowing.

It means the ABS/Trac control computer has seen a problem. It may have set because the system tried to activate in the nasty conditions, but something with a sensor or switch was incorrect, so it failed. If the light is on it means the system is inoperative so tell him to drive carefully (he still has regular brakes, just no ABS). The car needs to be scanned by a shop capable of reading GM body codes (Autozone can read engine codes, but usually not body codes) and the code set will tell them where to look for the problem.
