1997 isuzu rodeo: 6 cylinder..oil leak..part number..sending unit

Resolved Question:

1997 isuzu rodeo 6 cylinder has an oil leak where the filter screws into a part that is leaking oil what is the name or part number to that leaking part......could it be an oil cooler? It looks like it has some type of electrical sending unit attached to it.

the sending unit is for the oil pressure light/gauge...if there are hoses running to it then it does function as an oil cooler...otherwise i would refer to it as the oil filter base adpater....the oil ring seal is probably hard and or split...its not loose is it?

then more than likely the o ring seal or gasket has just hardened or split with age and needs to be replaced...if you take off the oil filter there are either retaining bolts inside of it that bolt to the block or it has a retaining nut on the threaded shaft for the filter hope this helps
