2002 GMC Envoy: the cylinder head..liter engine

Resolved Question:

How many labor hours are required to replace the cylinder head on a 2002 GMC Envoy 4.2 liter engine? What source is your information to answer this question? The GM figures is what I want.

I believe this is a v6 so there will be two cylinder heads.

Cylinder Head Gasket

Replace 23.8 hours labor

Includes: Remove Carbon And Make Necessary Adjustments.

With AC, Add 0.8 1.0

Reply to amedee's Post: Sorry,
The 4.2 engine in the 2002 Envoy is NOT a V6, it is an inline dual overhead-cam 6 cylinder, so the answer given cannot be accurate. I need the number of labor hours required by GM.

Thank you

I do apologize. You are correct it is an inline motor.
The timing chain alone calls for 18.8 hours labor. The timing chain must come off to do the head gasket. So the original labor time I gave u is correct.
