I just purchased a Alpine MRV-M1200 amp, a SWR-10D2 type R

Customer Question

I just purchased a Alpine MRV-M1200 amp, a SWR-10D2 type R sub and single box. I have a 2014 RAM 1500 Laramie with the Alpine OEM system with Sub under the passenger rear seat. I want to know if it is okay to take the wires that connect to the sub and run them into the above mentioned amp on the hi level input and if so how should I wire it? There are 4 wires that are going into the OEM sub box!!!

Hi Carl, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, proposed wirng connections (if have not been done and in most trims/versions):

  • • RAM OEM sub box's gray/brown to Alpine's white wire;
  • • OEM sub box's dark green/brown to Alpine's white/black wire;
  • • sub box's dark green/whiteto Alpine's gray/black wire;
  • • gray/white to Alpine's gray wire.
