I have a viper alarm remote system on my Toyota Tundra 2002.

Customer Question

I have a viper alarm remote system on my Toyota Tundra 2002. Yesterday I was unable to unlock my door with the remote, nor was I able to manually open it with the key. After about 20 minutes, I was able to open the car door with the key. Is this common with this system. I've had the viper system for several years and this is the first time I've encountered this problem. Please advise

.
Please post the Model Number of the Viper, as they make many different Models
.

The Viper installation would have NO affect on Unlocking the Door with the Door Key, "UNLESS" the Viper was transmitting a signal to Lock, keeping the Door Actuator in Lock position.
The Door Key is "manual" (not electronic) & should have unlocked the Door, even if the Door Actuator was held down.
I would want to check / replace the Door Actuator, just in case the Actuator is bad from overheating, grime, etc.
The Door Actuator is a Electric type motor that has a short throw to Lock or Unlock & over time the Actuator goes bad
