Wow, that was fast. I would have death certificate of my mother (is in Romanian), I'm not sure what other documents I would need. Also, the executor is my brother, over there, in Romania; when the transaction of selling my mother's apartment is completed, I assume that I could get a copy of that transaction, but I'm not sure. I have to ask my brother.

So, these are the main points: 1) I have been living in Canada for the last 18 years, permanent resident and Canadian citizen; 2) My mother passed away this year in Romania, and over there, there is no need for a will, automatically her assets will go to the family; 3) My father passed away 10 years ago, so, the only family that she has, are her children, me and another 3 siblings; 4) My brother is the executor in Romania, I gave power of attorney to him to represent me over there when selling my mother's assets. 5) Currently, her apartment is being sold and I have to provide a bank account for the transaction where to be deposited the money resulting from the transaction; 6) My part of the inheritance will not be more than 30.000 CAD 7) I was wondering what proof I have to provide to CRA to prove that these funds are resulting from a foreign inheritance?
