I need to file 2016 and 2017 taxes. in 2016 I received a back payment from CPP disability around 16000. and Great West Life told my to send it to them. so I did in September 2016. they then sent the cheque back to me in early December and told me to write another one slightly less, so I did. But it tokk themintul 2017 Jan 15 to accept it. They then sent me a letter that they accepted the claim prior to 2017 but that I could only reduce my income on 2017 taxes. So income tax forms now tell me I owe 4518 for 2016. I think this is ridiculous. I didn't have the money....why should I pay for it … read more
