I need help related to Canada immigration. Ontario. I haveMy Background: My name is***** am working in Canada with Post Graduate Work Permit. I got married after being in 2 years of relationship. I hold Indian passport and my wife is Moroccan nationality. Right now she studying nursing in Germany. I applied spousal open work permit for my wife and now waiting for express entry CEC draw to get open for my PR process. We got married last August 2021 in Barbados and now we have civil legal marriage certificate from Barbados. Now we are planning to visit my wife's family in Morocco and since we are going to Morocco, we are thinking to register our marriage under Morocco law as well. The issue is that we are not sure if my wife's country (Morocco) will recognize this civil marriage certificate, if they recognize it, then with the help of Moroccan lawyer we will register using the existing marriage certificate. But if they don't recognize, then we would work with Moroccan lawyer to see what we need. Not sure if Morocco will ask us to marry again in their country to register in their law.But I know that Canada and also India recognize Barbados civil legal marriage certificate. So I already applied spousal open work permit with Barbados legal civil marriage certificate and its in processing state. Also will apply PR with same marriage certificate under CEC express entry when it gets open by July likely.Question: Shall I wait until we get our PR (with existing civil marriage certificate from Barbados before I deal with registration under Morocco law? I don't want any complication in my PR application, rather want it be simple and straight forward one.Can you please advise if its okay to do what's necessary for registration in Morocco or wait until PR process is complete to avoid complication? Thanks Anantha… read more
