You can tell him he's welcome to take you to court to seek an order for 1/2 of the value of the trailer. That would be 1/2 of zero so you wish him good luck.

After that perhaps there's nothing more you do unless he does take you to court.

Yes. I did get that message. There's just something about off with the site but I did see that. He cannot make you sell as there is no equity in it.

He could try to get a court order but you would then get the trailer valuated or you would list it and see what price was offered for it.

So that's why he might be able to get an order for the sale of the trailer but at the end of the day it's not going to happen because he'd have to sue you and you could prove there is no equity.

It would be a small claims court and you would not be in court for many, many months.

No. That's actually not true. If two people own a house in One wants to sell and the other won't buy them out the court will absolutely order the sale of the property.

You can wait and see what he does. It would be ludicrous for him to retain a lawyer to sue for $5000 when the lawyer's retainer will be more than that. He's going to find himself stuck I believe. He may pay a lawyer to send you a letter but I don't believe he's going to sue you.
