If not, then you could retain a lawyer and challenge this in court claiming an infringement on your bodily autonomy and your employer’s failure to accommodate. Your employer will likely argue that this mandate is necessary to protect all staff and clients. Given the high risk population, there is heightened need by the employer to protect their patients.

There is a real risk you could be terminated from your job for not complying and, given the recent statement but the Ontario Human Right Commission, it is likely that this would be deemed a lawful dismissal unless there was a documented medical reason why you cannot receive the vaccine.

You could bring a legal claim against the employer, but unless you had a documented medical reason why you cannot receive the vaccine, your claim will likely fail.

There are two exceptions: a documented allergy to a listed ingredient or a severe reaction to the first dose. If neither apply, then there isn't a bona fide medical reason according to the law. A doctor would have an obligation to write a note if either of those two scenarios were present.

Unfortunately, those are your options.
