I was in my bathroom one day when I felt drops of water from above. The condo a above me was leaking into my bathroom. Workers were called and the ceiling and began to repair and replace.I went into my ensuite bathroom and water was starting to come through the ceiling. I let the workers know. There is A wall between the two but it’s the same plumbing stack I was justtold. I was told not my fault, one claim. Then my adjuster, my neighbors, the restoration workers and property manager got together. ,My insurance agent told me they were having a meeting together and I didn’t need to be there they worked well together and she’d talk to me after. She told me they were going to count it as two separate claims, and I would have to pay the $500.00 deductible for the each. I pointed out that I had no way of making water run upright. She said well that was what the cost would be unless it was decided I wasn’t fault. The workers started and they were good but at night the washrooms were lref

The repairs were made. I moved out for a week because I’m on disability for Parkinson’s and severe cervical spondylitis. Live out coverage is n the policy. First my insurance agent asked me if I really wanted to use my insurance for this. Then she said they wouldn’t pay for the time I was out because I could have just moved everything and clmbed over it to use the washroom as necessary, Then I heard nothing for a couple of months until the restoration company billed me $500.oo for each claim. I told them I needed to have billing and accounting from my insurance agent. I then got an email from her which basically had what she’d written On the piece of paper, said that responsibility for who caused what made no difference and I should pay the restorers and I wouldn’t get reimbursement for the time out when I couldn’t use the washrooms.

That has nothing to do with this. It’s condo insurance for water damage to my condo.

I think I should be able to get the live out insurance. If necessary I can prove I’m on disability for the Parkinsons and waiting for treatment for my neck which makes it clear the washrooms weren’t safe for me to use. Also I really can’t make water go up through the ceiling. And lastly she made me responsible for OKing the work that was done. They’re good but they wanted to check behind the. shower wall to make sure they got all the water damage and she refused and told them to just fix the ceilings and the wall right underneath. The bathtub has developed a crack in the plate where you water drains up. They said it wasn’t due to water damage and they could just put a new plate on which never happened. The unit above had extensive water damage last year and I know she kicked them out for awhile and called someone else into so an evaluation.
