I did look at your question and when I'm telling you the facts are not adding up. One doesn't put a lien on a bank account. One can garnish a bank account but if the money is in the account then the money would be removed and given to the judgement holder who provided the notice of garnishment to the bank.

So if there is more than $150,000 in the account then why aren't they just receiving that money and leaving the rest in the account? Do you see what I mean?

And, they don't get paid out of anything but the account so as they are asking you to pay the money ahead of time this is a scam. It is 100% a scam and this cannot actually be about your relative.

If you are the sole beneficiary it is your account.

The money owing would come out of the account as the bank would pay off the person who sent them the notice of garnishment. It can only come out of the account.

You are entitled to all documents to prove the lien. You should not pay the lien. The lien comes out of the money in the bank account so this is why none of this adds up.

The lienholder cannot receive more funds and what they are owed. But as I keep telling you none of these facts are adding up for me at all.
