To clarify so that I am sure I understand your situation - you currently have a valid visitor visa to Canada as well as a study permit which are valid until July 30, 2021 - is that correct ?

Which visa have you applied to extend ?

I understand. - When you refer to your 'student visa' which is not your study permit, are you referring to your multiple entry visitor visa you have in your passport which you use to enter Canada ?

So at the present time, your only valid immigration document is your study permit which does not expire until July, 2021 - is that correct ?

In that case, you may not be able to enter Canada without this TRV because the TRV is the immigration document you need to re-enter Canada because a study permit allows to study in Canada but is not really a document that is used to legally enter Canada.

In that case, I would suggest that you send Canada Immigration the Web Form as soon as possible and ask for expedited processing of your application and explain the situation.

If that does not work, you will need to apply for your Post Graduate Work Permit from outside of Canada.

Are you completing your courses online from outside of Canada at the moment ?

Has your TRV expired or is it still valid ?

I think you indicated your student visa expired last year ?

If your new TRV is not issued before April 30th and you only a valid study permit, you may have trouble re-entering Canada. The final decision is up to the immigration officer at the port of entry but usually you do need a valid TRV to enter. You can explain to the officer about your situation and show proof that you are normally studying and resident in Canada and will be applying for a PGWP as you will be graduating but there is no guarantee of re-entry.

Do you need to come back to Canada by April 30 for the graduation at your school or can you finish your studies on line and apply for your PGWP from outside of Canada ?

I understand. - However, without the valid TRV, you most likely will not be allowed by the airline to fly home as they are pre-screening passengers to make sure they are eligible for re-entry under the Travel Restrictions.

I would suggest that you submit the Web Form as soon as possible and ask for expedited processing.
