My daughter is a high risk youth has been in and off from home for 3+ years. She has dated sex offenders, done some hard drugs Meth, Heroine, drinking, stealing cars etc. She just had twins in Feb 2021 and two weeks later threatened to leave with them. We called crisis and was told not to let the twins leave. So we didn’t she left at 3am and hasn’t returned it’s been almost two weeks. She continues to tell us she’s coming back, she asked us to take care of the twins. She has a social worker involved due to her lies, and much more. They told her to give us guardianship and parenting after birth we discussed it prior as she had got arrested fir stealing a car and meth in the earlier months of pregnancy and her extreme high risk lifestyle. She refuses to give us any authority over the twins and they can’t be given medical or are a doctor due to this. We feel like we’re in jail here not able to go or do anything. She isn’t caring for the twins but calling the shots. I feel sick and numb that she is doing this. They had a doctors appt on the 3 via phone and she doesn’t even have them. She apparently told them to call me and nothing. We have filed for guardianship and parenting and are thinking is this the right avenue?
