On January of 2022 I moved into house in Milton, Ontario. I am a renter. The house also has a finished basement and was rented out in March by some other family. According to the contract we signed the 75% of gas and hydro bills will be paid the family on the top floor (which is my family) and 25% will be paid by landlord if the basement is occupied. My landlord says the family went for vacation in September and he won't pay for the hydro or gas bill for that month. There is no statement like that in the contract nor I was told before they were leaving for that month. However, I have proof that amazon packages were picked up and in September garbage bags were put out by the people in basement. Can he do this? … read more
