You were directed to file a 14 B and asked for an uncontested trial. Were you told you have to serve that on the other side?

So, do you know any of the clerks in the courthouse well enough to call them and to ask them to advise how best to move forward giving the situation with Covid and my fear that things are going to be locked down again more fully?

Actually it's probably your best plan. Because you're right about not wanting to have to get stuck with costs if you lose. This is extremely odd and the problem that you have of courses that you were served even though they didn't file with proof of service so it's not like there is an automatic right to default judgment.

So maybe your plan is sound but be prepared because with Covid and the numbers rising things could be delayed for a much longer period of time.

I know there are no hearings but there are clerks working at the courthouse. If they are sent home because they are locked down then nothing but emergencies will be heard over the phone just as what was happening last March. It is very possible we will be back to there ins a few weeks.

If the clerk is so sure they should allow you to proceed without notifying the other side.
