The Otter Point area is governed by the Juan de Fuca Land Zone Bylaw #2040. Your zone designation"AF" stands for "Forestry". This bylaw allows defines farming (regenerative or other) as "AGRICULTURE means a use providing for growing, rearing, producing and harvesting of crops, livestock, horticulture, and silviculture; includes the storage and sale on an individual farm of those products from that farm and the storage of farm machinery and implements of husbandry used on that farm; and specifically excludes Intensive Agriculture and all manufacturing, processing, storage and repairs not specifically included in this definition". It also states that "FARM means an area of land classified as a farm under the Assessment Act." Then this by-law permits "agriculture" to be conducted in the following zoning designations: A, A1, AG, AG1, RR, RR2, RR3, RR3K, RR6, CR4, CR4OW,

HOWEVER, Section 3.0 of this by law states:

"In addition to the uses permitted by Section 4.15 of Part 1 of this Bylaw, the following uses and no others shall be permitted in the Forestry AF Zone: (a) Silviculture except within 300m of a highway; (b) Offices, mechanical shops, fuel storage, and storage buildings accessory to mining or silviculture; (c) One-family dwelling; (d) Home Based Business Categories One, Two and Three; Bylaw 3705 (e) Two Boarders or lodgers; (f) Secondary Suite pursuant to Part 1, Subsection 4.19; Bylaw 3849 (g) Detached Accessory Suite pursuant to Part 1, Subsection 4.20. Bylaw 3849".

SO, not being an agriculturalist or forester myself, I suggest that you carefully review the definitions of "agriculture" and "forestry", as set out in this bylaw and determine whether or not what EXACTLY you intend to do fits the permitted uses.
