You will need to extend your visitor's visa because you cannot go out of status even though you are planning to study in Canada next term.

You need to apply to extend your visa before it expires and when you do that you will have implied status until you hear from Canada immigration again so if things are delayed because of what is going on here it won't matter.

What they want is a study permit. You will need to get a study permit because you are no longer a minor child. So you need to get a study permit and extend your visitor's visa and you will be fine.

The admission letter doesn't have anything to do with what CIC considers.

You may not have to pay but I am sure you will need a study permit to study now that you are an adult.
