Partner, 66 years old, 45 years of devoted service (acknowledged by company) as manager of branch store arrived at work two weeks ago to be told in front of all employees that he was no longer manager but could keep working at same pay. No warning at all. He was totally humiliated. Feel they wanted him to storm out but he wants a separation package. He is too humiliated to do anything. I am a pensioner and I have seen this kind of discrimination against other elderly friends. Also I don't trust them; they will not want to pay two managerial salaries.
