How to prevent lien on property when invoice is incorrect?

The invoice is incorrect and there are deficiencies that have not been corrected. I terminated the contract at the 60% mark when the contractor refused to build to code and became violent towards my property when I insisted. I've paid the labour in full but have not yet paid for materials.

My contractor’s last day was Feb 20th but I official terminated the contract on Feb 26th when he refused on 3 consecutive days to show up to complete the contract unless I reimbursed him for materials. At this point in the project, 40% to 50% of the work was substantially completed. My contract states that the 30% deposit was to help cover materials and labour and materials would reimbursed at the end of the contract. My contractor became violent in my home on Feb 18 and then submitted his invoice for material reimbursement on Feb 20th insisting on a 30% surcharge for material delivery (this was not in our contract). He then refused (via email) to show up on Feb 24-25-26 unless I paid the materials upfront.
He states that I owe 398 but this is the second invoice he sent with calculation mistakes. The actual amount owing is 374.
He had an employee and paid for a plumber to work on the job (which I reimbursed him this cost but didn't get a receipt).
I wonder if I am allowed to keep the 10% holdback for 45 days or until I get a notarized letter stating both his employee and plumber will not put a lien on my property. I also want to know if his current invoice which contains errors is considered a "proper" invoice according to the construction lien act.
Finally, do I have a right to insist that he provides details about his general liability insurance since he stated in his contract that he will carry this insurance? He assured me that his employee was covered under his policy but refused to show me the documentation. Is this part of a deliverable for the completion of the job?
He stated that he would provide this information when I paid but I don’t trust that he will. I also need proper receipts for tax purposes which he is refusing to provide.
I don’t want to have a lien on my house BUT I would like to get what I’m entitled to before I pay. Thank you!!!
