VerifiedHello! My name is Debra (formerly known as Legal Ease). Thank you for your question. I'm reviewing it now, and will post back again shortly.
Your spouse did not have to file a turn for 2016. She never took at up residency here. She did a soft landing. It was at the end of the year almost and she never moved her in 2016.
Canada has no right to tax her on her world-wide income before she actually settles.
She will need a tax lawyer at this point.
I don't seeing this being resolved otherwise given the fact that your former accountant appears to have tried to resolve this.
