You should report this to the police for sure.

You will have to find her and may need to retain a licenced private investigator.

What you can do is send her a letter by Registered Mail. In the letter set out the facts and demand that she refund you by a deadline that you set and that should be something like 24 hours.

Tell her if she fails to comply you will commence legal proceedings and then will be seeking interest and your costs.

You can then sue her in Small Claims Court and self-represent. If it gets that far and you find you need some help as you go through the process you can always post on this site again and I can assist you further.

I do think it is worth pursuing. She is a scammer for sure.

Well the facts will speak for themselves and you will testify under oath and will also be able to cross examine her under oath.

She is doing this to someone else right now it seems.

They might agree to investigate and charge her. I definitely suggest you call them today.

But if this becomes only a civil matter as the police will not investigate or charge her then it is up to you.

You can say you received some information from a lawyer and they said this goes well beyond a civil matter as it is a clear case of fraud.
