I am sorry to hear of this difficult situation.
The question has just appeared on the Canada law list now.
Do you still need an answer?
Then you can let them sue you. So what? There is nothing they can do to satisfy the judgment.
There is nothing to seize. They cannot garnish retirement pensions.
So you are what is called judgment proof.
You could also declare bankruptcy if you want. There is a cost for that but it will wipe out all debts and judgments and you will be free. You can consult with a Trustee in Bankruptcy for free.
