My boyfriend is living in Quebec but has to answer to a

Hi Debra, we hired a Quebec lawyer who told us that his ex-wife filed first for the divorce so we had to file for discontinuance in Quebec. His ex-wife is trying to obtain child-support for an adult child at the amount of 388$ a month, however, he is on medical disability social assistance and could not afford that amount. (He gets $850 a month and declared bankruptcy last year).
His ex-wife had him sign the agreement when he was sick in Vancouver, on pain meds after an operation and kicked him out of the house when he returned home from the hospital. He also suffers from severe depression. To be honest, he was not in the right state of mind when he signed the separation agreement.
So - in the agreement, his ex-wife states that there are no assets to divide (they were married for 25 years) and that they agree not to divide their pensions (she also had a superannuation pension as she works for the RCMP).
By law (I guess) and normally there is a 50% division of assets. She took all of his and forced him to agree to the signing of the agreement while he was sick.At the time - being sick and without a home or money, he did not have independent legal advice. In fact, we have papers she tried to get him to sign after - stating that they would not involve lawyers (but he did not agree to that).
