I was just reading regarding a similar situation about a domestic case which I had sworn on during the police interview. My boyfriend and I got into a dispute which escalated as he was leaving the house. And I ended up calling the police. The police when they arrived because my boyfriend had already left by that time, told me I can either drive myself to the station or they will drive me there to do a statement. I never had been through this situation before, so I told them to just bring me. The police made it seem like this was my only choice and this was procedure to the incident at my house. I wouldn't have gone if this would have led to his now pending charges against him, which has now been over 4years ago, and still has a warrant for his arrest. We have been living together this entire time in Toronto, the incident happend in timmins in 2014.

That same day, when it happened I called the officer that I did the interview with to recant the statement, I did not get a reply. I tried again another time saying that I did not want charges and to recant my statement, again no reply. I also wrote a letter directly to the crown attorney's office, and did get a reply by phone the crown attorney and I discussed the letter and what happened with my boyfriend, and then the police, and that I recanted. But he said "because of your boyfriends past, and that I sworn on the bible, that it's out of my hands". And that he has to turn himself in...there had been a more recent incident at our condo building we used to live at in 2017, with him and the concierge staff. Which he was arrested for, and is now on probation for that. But even during the court session the judge didn't care but only a slight mention "I see you have a warrant against you". But this was not anywhere near Toronto. So no one cared about it in court. He ended up on 18momths probation because of the condo incident and is
