n 2007 I went on Long Term Disability from the BC Teachers Federation. At the same time I got permission to receive CPP Disability. On August 28, 2019 I received a letter from Great West Life stating from August 1, 2018 through to June 30, 2019 there was an error on my account and CPP Disability paid me too much money. The letter states that I owe Great West Life over $10,000.00. I have not received any other correspondence from Great West Life. On April 22, 2020 I received a letter from The Canada Life Assurance Company stating I have an outstanding overpayment in the amount of $10,341.21. I have until May 20, 2020 to submit a repayment proposal.I'm stressed! I'm already living month to month and repayment should be on my terms. I can't believe the overpayment of money happened over 10 years after I started receiving CPP Disability and nobody caught it for 12 months.When I called my case manager at Great West Life to find out why the mistake was made I was told it was a computer error. I don't dispute this was an overpayment, but I don't g et a monthly statement from Great West Life either by email or snail mail.What really pissed me off is the lady from The Canada Life Assurance Company wrote, “I look forward to hearing from you as your cooperation is expected in resolving this matter.
