First, if you father is still alive, then he is the only individual who can grant access to his file held at the attorney's office. Second, if he is not alive, then the executor of his Estate is the only individual who may have access to his file. Also, if he is not alive, then all beneficiaries may request and receive a copy of the Will.

I am also sorry that a US lawyer answered your question. Please disregard the answer as it is not correct. I will explain the law now clearly and correctly,
But to give you a more complete answer I have a couple of questions first.
Did your father have any assets in his name alone at the time of his death?
Are you or your brothers beneficiaries as far as you know?
As one of the executors of the estate you now have the same rights that your father had while living.
For this reason you most assuredly are entitled to a copy of all that is in the lawyer's file except for the lawyer's personal notes.
You can send the lawyer a letter asking for them to provide you with a copy of all documentation in your father's file with them.
