Were you trying to leave your boyfriend last night?
That's a tough decision but I think you made the right call. I suspect that he was trying to make himself look better by offering some time, even though by offering it at his family's home it's clearly not ideal, and offered reluctantly.
I don't why people think they can get away with acting like this.
