My name is***** mom is 93 years old. She lives in North York. Her building is under renovation: the landlord is replacing the windows. She received 3 notices for three dates to replace the windows in her rented apartment. The last notice was done in the same day when the landlord was planning to do that job in her apartment. The first and second notice were giving to her in 24 hours, the 3rd one - in the same day. The people did not come all 3 times to do the job. It is 2 weeks already. The air conditioner was removed 2 weeks ago. The temperature is 29 degrees C. My mom has the heart problem. The apartment is supposed to be prepared for the job: remove the blinds, move the furniture. I try to help my Mom all the time coming from Oshawa every time when she receives the notices for the whole day. Nobody comes to tell us that they do not come. We are waiting for them until 5pm without any information. Do she has right to refuse from that job, because: 1. She cannot stand it anymore, 2. The air conditioners are not installing in the building in the new windows, and she cannot be without it. … read more
