Do you know where he is if you have to send him a letter or serve him?
You can send him a letter to the c/o his mother.
In the letter give him a final deadline for removing the trailer. In the letter tell him that if he fails to comply you will have the trailer disposed of and then will be seeking reimbursement for any costs you incur in so doing.
That way you cannot be faulted for getting rid of it.
