What do you want to know about the law of Ontario?
When did you move to Portugal?
Are all the assets there?
Yes he is. There is no doubt of course. You were both free to do whatever you wanted with the estate.
But really having moved to Portugal i 1985 the law in Canada and specifically Ontario is that Canadian and Ontarian law have no relevance as the law that applies is the law of the jurisdiction where the testator was habitually residing when he died.
Just for your information you should do a new will in Portugal so the beneficiaries of your estate don't have this problem.
